A long-delayed Father/Daughter chat between Gavin and Cilla. Sometimes you can convince yourself that the easy path is the best one, and while Gavin felt he made the right choice for Cilla, at the time, he’d long since realized what he lost by that choice.
A wonderful moment, and I love how they build their relationship over the book. I love how Cilla also bond s with her stepmother and half sister. Coming home to her grandmother’s house gives Cilla the home and family she deserves.
I love how they heal their relationship over time. She is lucky to be able to connect with her step mother and sister.
It is still one of my favorite novels. Brilliant
Loved how Cilla and her Dad reconnected. He reached out and she cautiously took hold, which resulted in true love to take root. But more importantly they ended up really liking each other. That is so special. One of the reasons I will always have this book in my library, to reread every year around Fathers Day.
