It’s just over 6 weeks until The Seven Rings is on shelves (release is November 18) so I thought it was time to share the excerpt.
Here’s the official description of the final book in The Lost Brides Trilogy:
Long ago, Arthur Poole built a grand house overlooking the turbulent ocean, in a Maine village that bore his name. Today, Sonya MacTavish lives in that house―a manor that has been cursed for generations.
After Sonya, her boyfriend, Trey, and their friends are forced to hear, see―and feel―the suffering of the house’s many ghosts as their torment is reenacted by the evil presence, their bond only strengthens and their anger is renewed. Refusing to let her spirit be broken, Sonya searches each room for clues to her ancestors’ hidden story, putting the picture together, unearthing small treasures, and uncovering the moments of joy that existed among the sorrows. She’s determined to bring light to this haunted place―to fill it with people, with life and hope, once again.
But the enemy in the black dress continues to hover, to come at her in frightening forms. They may be illusions―but illusions can be powerful enough to wound and kill. She feeds on fear, and lies are her weapon. This dark-hearted witch wants to be mistress of Poole Manor, at any cost. And Sonya will need to fight a battle across two realms to finally take possession of the house on the clifftop―and of her own future…

When is the book being released? I am dying from waiting to finish this trilogy.
November 18. -Laura
Was confused cause I read Target date 2026. Ugh have to wait until Nov. lol
November 18th
Me, too! But I’m TENTH on the waiting list at my library (but had put in a book request for it over 2.5 months ago), so it’s going to be a long time…sigh
Great prologue. Can’t wait for THE SEVEN RINGS. Will be a wonderful end to an awesome trilogy. Thanks Nora 👍👍👍
Another great start to a great book. I am looking forward to when it is released.
I can’t wait to read this book! I read all of your work, including the JD Robb series. I have been reading your books since the ’90s.
Can’t wait!!
This was a great beginning to what will be a EPIC book! This has become one of my favorite trilogys from one of my favorite authors.
I almost can’t wait. I’m one of those who waits for all three books in the trilogy before reading.
Thanks so much for sharing the 1st chapter! I can’t wait! I have The Seven Rings on hold at my digital library and I’m #298 in line of one copy 😂😂😂
I don’t know how Nora does it but every book, every series just gets better. 💕
I’m just curious, do you know how many copies of the book your library will have? I always think the very popular authors should have several copies of their books in the library since so many people want to read them.
We don’t. That’s up to the library ordering staff, not the author. -Laura
My question was to Betsy, who is 289 on the waiting list at her library.
Counting the days! Really gonna hate to see this one end.
Is a genealogy going to be released for the series?
We’re working on that. -Laura
I don’t think this is a spoiler, but I’ve been listening to the first two books in preparation for November. I just wanted to say that I appreciate how well Nora handled convincing the skeptical Sonia that ghosts exist. It had a nice build and felt just right.
I’m very excited for the final book. I’m just wondering when the Big Print version will be available for pre-order. I get that version for my sister and this will be her Christmas gift.
We don’t get release info from the large press publisher. According to the Thorndike Press website, there’s no date for the large print at this time. I’d guess it’s in early 2026.

I just re read the first 2 , took my time this time . I loved the party scene in the second book. I loved that Sonya’s grandmother wrote down Drew’s life for Clover . . I enjoyed both one & two this time as I did the first time I read them . I am looking forward to receiving the 3rd book from my local library I am #4 on the list as I am on purchasing my 3 sets of Wicked 2 movie tickets , 3 separate people to go with on 3 separate dates .
Thank you Nora for writing books that bring readers in & thank you Laura for keeping her media presence
Love Nora Robert’s books. Looking forward to her new release.
I have several Nora Roberts books. I loved The Search & read that one quite frequently. Your Chesapeak Series is a keeper as well as your J. D. Robb books are truly amazing. I can never wait to see what is happening with Dallas & company, Somerset & The Cat are so relatable as I am also a cat person. I love all your books. Thank you fir brightening my days .
I am loving the seven rings book. I am trying to make it last. It is hard to stop reading it.
I have a question. In chapter 15 there is a mention of the Sutton Grove book series by Joyce B Landon.
Is that a real series because I can’t find it anywhere ?
Thank you!
Barbara
No, Nora made it up. -Laurq
I also searched, thinking if Nora was recommending a series it has to be a winner. lol. Disappointment reigns.
Oh my goodness, I made it to this comment thread googling exactly this. I 1000% need to read Nora Robert’s favorite authors lol. Super sad Joyce isn’t real!
Me too!
I searched too because I am a big reader and thought it might be a series she would recommend.
…and just like that, Nora decided a second nom de plume was indeed possible.
Hello Nora,
Big hugs and special thanks for the Lost Bride trilogy. I buy all of your books. I love your mind and very grateful you share your stories with the world. Thank you for next year’s calendar so I can preorder books.
