Turn the Page’s signing this past weekend was nearly as epic as the July signing. So many people and such happy faces. Here are some photos from Saturday and Nora shares how she spent her Sunday. Laura

ning Saturday at Turn The Page with a terrific group of authors brought in four hundred people. Many thanks to those authors, to TTP’s amazing staff–and our signing volunteers–and to all the readers who hung in there for nearly six hours. That’s a loooooong day for all.
Wrapping my wrist prior to the signing meant no pain and all gain! It really made a difference. I’m going to keep my wrap handy for next month’s Holiday In Boonsboro, and the signing at TTP. Can’t wait to see the town all decked out for the holidays.
Still, wow, six hours. I decided to unwind on Sunday and make my beef stew–sort of my version of a poor man’s beef bourguignon–with dumplings. I’d planned to bake a couple rounds of sour dough bread, but discovered I was out of yeast. Don’t know how that happened, but expect my oldest granddaughter to be around in the coming week, and she loves bread. So I did a quick beer bread instead.
Stew and bread baking turned out to be just the thing for a chilly November Sunday. And today, it’s back to work–and leftovers. That’s a pretty perfect Monday for me.

Laura again: I posted a photo of a shawl I knitted up late in the summer and wrote how I loved the colorway. Then I received my copy of Blood Magick and all was explained. A lot of knitters asked after 
the yarn, color and pattern. It’s Malabrigio Rios in colorway 855 Aguas. The pattern is the Groovy Shawl (the link is to the Ravelry pattern — I went up a weight and only knit 10 repeats).

What a great birthday it was for me to meet you Nora! My mother and I waited for 6 hours and it was so worth it, you made my year! Picture with you, chatted while you signed the books and you gave me a compliment saying you liked my hat! Now its my favorite one!!! Thanks so much for all the stories you write and for being so down to earth in person.

I have a quick question on the shawl. Would it be a good pattern to learn to knit on?
It’s pretty straightforward — knitting, purling and casting off. If you have a knitter in your life to teach you those things — or use You Tube tutorials — I bet you can do it.

Other than baking, Nora doesn’t follow specific recipes — rather she uses them a general guidelines and tweaks to mood, taste and what’s in the pantry. If you google Beef Stew, I’ll bet you find many choices that would work. Happy searching!

To come to a TTP book signing is on my bucket list! Looks like so much fun. Glad the wrist-wrap helped. Stew is one of my favourites and especially love dumplings; Nora, yours looks so yummy, I’m now inspired to make one next weekend. Comfort food for cold weather, indeed! Laura, absolutely love the colours you chose for your shawl. Use to knit all the time, now arthritis in the fingers make it too painful. Sigh. At least reading is one of the things I can do, pain free! Love all of Nora/JD’s books, especially.

Alice, I have the start of osteoarthritis in my hands and have found copper bracelets help a lot for the pain and mobility. Hope it helps you as well.
Thank you, Brenda, appreciate the suggestion. I play my guitar to help keep the fingers moving, but some days, it just hurts too much. I know several people who wear the bracelets, so I should give it a try, as well. Thanks, again.

My sisters and I were in group N. It was well worth the wait to meet you and all of the other authors. Being able to walk through Boonesboro and eating at Vesta Pizza was so exciting because it was like being in your series. The bagpipe player added to the experience too. Hopefully, one day I will be able to stay in the inn. It is beautiful on the outside. Thank you for being so gracious to all of your readers this weekend.

Hi Laura, I just wanted to confirm the color of the yarn used in the shawl. When I look at Aguas online it looks like mostly blues, but the shawl looks like it is pinks and greens. Can you please confirm the colors for me as I love it?
