The battle is over! This is the place to discuss The Cousins O’Dwyer Trilogy from Dark Witch to Shadow Spell to Blood Magick.
Some starter questions:
Did one of the books stand out for you more that the others?
What did you think of the careful crafting of the battles?
How often did you refer to Nora’s travelogues from Ireland while reading the books?
Please add any thoughts or questions of your own. And remember that spoilers may occur.
Laura

I loved the battles no two were alike and I feel sometimes with other author trilogies after the first book you can pretty much tell how the other three are going to go…NOT with Nora, she is amazing and always surprising me. Loving this book! and Love this Trilogy!!!
My question has a natural spoiler – this looked like the right forum…After the final battle – when the first three go home, how does the history of what took place not carry forward through the generations? They had to discuss it, recover from it, glory in the final success and their part in setting their mother free and breaking the curse, etc – but they couldn’t influence all the generations in between and potentially change what needed to unfold naturally? I know the simple answer would be that they swore themselves to secrecy but that just doesn’t seem very Nora Roberts like…
That is the paradox of time travel.
As I do with most of Nora’s series, I wait till they all come out before I read them. It takes a lot of patience, but either way, I have to wait, but now I can sit back, relax, and ‘fall into the story’ completely. They await me on my iPad, and will begin tonight. I guess I’ll have to avoid the blog for a bit because of the possible spoilers. Thanks, Nora, for keeping me entertained for so many years. Thanks, Laura, for keeping us up to date on everything Nora. It o
Is so appreciated.
You are much more patient than I could ever be. I have to read them right when I get them. That would be another bad thing about having a Kindle. I couldn’t hide them away even if I wanted to.
When the first one comes out – I have to read it right away. Then have to re-read it right before the second one comes out. So now I’ve re-read the first two in anticipation of this one! Started it last night. Wanted to read all night, but ended up putting it down – twice! – before I finally went to bed! I could read (and re-read) all of the books over and over again!
I am the same way but i like to read the actual paper style book. This was a great trilogy. I was very in thralled and entertained. Whats next? More Irish oriented stories, I can only hope. I love this type of theme, send us more NORA…… ty
I do the same. I like experiencing the trilogies a one continuous story.
I wish they had used the same narrator as book two for the audio book! The characters I love now have different voices. It’s just not the same!!!
Tami,
That’s a decision made by Brilliance Audio — Nora is not involved in choosing the readers for her books.
Laura
In my copy Nora inscribed the word “believe”. When I follow Nora through the book I truly do believe and can picture the scenes well in my head. I enjoyed all three books, but Blood Magic was my favorite. Finbar was a strong leading character. He was brave, kind, and generous. The way he built his home in hopes Branna would come was sweet as well. He also waited patiently for it to be her decision to stay. I was very pleased with the explanation of why he could speak to all three guides. I felt he had really proven himself over and over and was very deserving of their happy ending. Thank you Nora for such a fun story.
I have to agree with everything you said…Finbar Burke seems to me like the most powerful witch that has walked across Nora’s pages. And, the fact that he ended up being the hero of the story with Branna being his supporting heroine was a powerful ending. Blood Magick will likely replace Face the Fire as my all time favorite finale and I really never thought that would happen as Mia and Sam ware such a magical couple. Time to reread both the 3 SistersTrilogy(for at least the 5th time) then go back to the O’Dwyer Trilogy.
I too read each of Nora’s books as soon as they are published. Yep…they make me Believe.
And, although Blood Magick was my favorite…the relationship with Connor and Meara in Shadow Spell made me smile a lot.
I just love the characters. Her books r so descriptive it is almost like I am there. This trilogy is just one of her awesome trilogys. I have bought and read everyone the brides, inn at Boonsboro, and all the rest r so good.
I think I liked Blood Magick the best (but I did like the first two). It has the most conflict in it and that’s what I like in books that are about good versus evil.
Well, I still don’t have the last one but regarding the first two:
Did one of the books stand out for you more that the others? I believe the last book will be it for me. The other 2? Absolutely great but I’m already in love for Fin and Breanna so there’s no space for them. I really need this HEA 🙂
What did you think of the careful crafting of the battles? It reminds of previous Nora’s novels but added dimension. If Nora was a witch I’d say she’s getting her black belt of witches 🙂
How often did you refer to Nora’s travelogues from Ireland while reading the books? I can’t. Not while reading, at least. I might when finished but when reading I’m enveloped by their stories, their personalities, their traditions and most of the time I can’t even remember who wrote the book ;). Does it make any sense? It’s not like Breanna is cooking and I think “well, Nora told us about this stew…” I might remember after but in the moment not so much. Nora’s writing overwhelms any reality, creating the reality you want to live in.
Theresa,
I love your description of being engrossed in the story and characters… it fits. With great stories the author is invisible…
I absolutely loved the first two books. I just got Blood Magick yesterday can’t wait to start reading it over the weekend. Nora you are my favorite author.
Just purchased Blood Magick last night and started reading 5 min. later. Have to work or I would be finished with it. As always, I want to read until the end and then I’m sad because it is over (until I read it again).
I liked the first book. Iona is similar to me in many characteristics and I love the gruff, tuff, lovable Boyle. I also appreciated the uniqueness of each battle. My favorite thing about Nora’s book is that love and light always triumph in the end.
Did one of the books stand out for you more that the others? I enjoyed book 1. I liked book 2, but it was missing something for me. Book 3 is by far my favorite. I had high hopes for it as Branna and Finbar were my favorite characters from the first book. So glad it did not disappoint. I also appreciated that the story of the original trio was fleshed out so much more in Blood Magick.
Mb> What did you think of the careful crafting of the battles?I liked most of the battle scenes and that they were all different. I thought the final battle in Blood Magick was rushed. The last time Kathel was mentioned by name was about how he was bleeding. I know the last line has them all going home, but I wish there’d been a line or two after the battle ended about the animals (like maybe Kathel leaning against Branna during the final conversation with Fin or something). Just a small quibble.
How often did you refer to Nora’s travelogues from Ireland while reading the books? I looked at the picture of the castle in the ad at the end, but otherwise not at all.
I have read the first two books in the series and am anxiously awaiting Blood Magic to be delivered from Amazon. I am an old fashioned reader in that I love the turn of the pages, the crease in the binding and the smell of a book. In the evenings after dinner and the routine bedtimes for my children I retire to the sanctity of my bedroom where I can drift off into another place (Ireland is my favorite, perhaps why so many of Nora’s trilogies appeal to me). I often research the locations prior to reading the books to offer more of a visual. Ashford Castle in the County of Mayo surely didn’t disappoint me (my boss actually caught be searching their website in my office on lunch break). While in most of the trilogies it can be anticipated that the characters will fall in love and eventually live happily ever after I would like to read about these characters in more depth later in their lives. Perhaps a story to revisit the loved characters. In the end Branna and Fin seem destined for each other as Iona and Boyle and Connor and Meara are. I can’t wait to read Branna and Fin’s story!
This last book sticks out for me. I like how Fin and Branna openly talk about their feelings for each other. I like how Branna is over the hurt of Fin being a descendant of Cabhan, but sticking to her family honor of staying away from him. And as much as Fin loves Branna, he is honoring her family oath even though he is not evil like Cabhan. That, itself, is proof that he has rejected Cabhan. Its not your typical “I’m so hurt by you I’m scarred for life” hurt that they need to get over. They are working together to dispell evil, and if not for Sorcha’s oath, I think they would have been married long ago. And they both acknowledged that.
Keeping this post on hold for a bit. While I was able to pre-order Festive in Death, monetarily I won’t be able to get the newest O’Dwyer book until – well, it could be as early as next Monday, or whenever may paycheck comes through, or I may have to wait until another payment we are waiting on comes through – in CHECK form – possibly by the end of next week. I can’t believe a billion dollar corporation is issuing these in check form, but that’s a whole other gripe of mine.
BTW, if anyone can tell me, is there some place that I can go to make general comments about the current book I’m reading (not the featured one) or general questions?
You can either reply here or email me at spydre4@gmail.com . Thanks in advance.

Just finished! Nora weaves magic with her words. Hate to finish a trilogy. It’s back to the bookshelf to reread one of the previous trilogies. …3 witches island probably!
I think my favorite is still dark witch. The foundation of Sorcha and her children just got my heart. And, I am a sucker for an American to “find” themselves with Irish relatives, where they truly”fit”. I just love that!
The battles were interesting and I knew the animals would be key…As they were for the three when Sorcha gave her children her power and the guides. The falconry in shadow spell was so educational and wonderfully enhanced the story. I don’t want to try it, but am in awe 🙂 Connor, just a great guy! Ok…? Maybe show spell was my favorite!
I hadn’t followed Nora ‘ s blog and travel log until recently. I think I will go back and try to catch up there.
As always, Nora delivered 🙂 thank you for your gifts.
Love Nora’s books, waiting for the last of this trilogy to arrive. Nice to read other peoples comments and thoughts.
I would really like to know who won the trip to Ireland. It would be nice to know who the winner was.
Nora announced it in a video on Facebook in August: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152237446343016&set=vb.250494657154&type=2&theater
Is there supposed to be a new trip to win? I bought my digital copy of Blood Magick at Google Play and the cover have a gold circle saying “Win a magical stay in an Irish Castle” with the web URL but it takes me to the old contest. It’s the same wording that was in the blue-grey cirlce on Shadow Spell.
The third book was my favorite because as a history person, I always want the full story and with this book we finally got that! I loved the twist that Fin was both good and evil, it was a twist I didn’t see coming but then made perfect sense! There was so much love and hope and connection in this story! I enjoyed book one, book two was good but not my favorite…..I’m sad it is over because I always feel such a connection to the characters by book three it is so sad to let them go and know there are no more stories coming! I think this is why I prefer a trilogy to a stand alone book…..the connection is so much stronger!
Just finished Blood Magick. Love this trilogy. I read each as they were released. I think this one stands out for me because it’s the conclusion of the tale where light triumphs over dark. Bought the book Tuesday and would have finished it last night but fell asleep! Can’t believe I did that! I have read almost all Nora Robert’s books. They are all good even though they are all different. I guess I need to start on the JD Robb books!
If you are starting the JD Robb books, go in order, very important to the story line as they are all about the same main character and her love interest…..so you start with the meeting and the story begins. Love the story line and the fact it is situated in the future.
I absolutely loved all 3 of the books. I just finished Blood Magick last night, I was sad that it ended so fast, I would have loved if there was an epilogue.
I appreciate wanting more, and as a writer it’s really flattering. But from a writer’s standpoint, there just wasn’t any more story to justify an epilogue. Sometimes there are threads that need to be tied up this way, but in this case, it would’ve been padding.
Ms Roberts, we love every word, every phrase you produce. You are the finest artist, painting with words. Yes, epilogues can be perceived as padding, but to us, your devoted fans, “yes, please!” Pile it on, we want it. Trilogies like Born in Fire, Ice and Shame gave us wonderfully full, well rounded, characters and relationships. Well, please know, please believe us, you cannot over do it. We’re enjoying your work, thoroughly. Follow-ups to any of the stand alone books or any of the trilogies would be met with over-the-top enthusiasm! Thanks for working tirelessly (I know, ha! Right?) to keep putting such superb literature into our greedy hands.
Just finished Blood Magick. LOVED IT!!! I want me a Finbar! And a Branna cookbook! Lol. I wish we’d have seen a little more of Sorcha at the end when the battle was won but I understand she is finally free. I loved all the unexpected twists, especially learning of Fin’s great roots and the giving magicks to Meara and Boyle. Such great emotions were conveyed; I got teary eyed in a few beginning scenes. What a great read this was… I loved it! Thanks, Nora!
I agree about Sorcha! One of the bad things about reading on a kindle is that the book always ends at something like 95% and I always forget that, so it ended abruptly and I was like…hey! When reading a paper book you know when the last page is coming and can prepare better emotionally. But hey with my disability, kindle it must be…. anyway, I think I’d have liked to have some closure for Sorcha as well. Her standing with her husband and kids…something. Also, they always leave me wanting more. Maybe that’s the point but oh, I so want to know if they had kids, how many, what gender…you get invested and then they go away…. but it’s worth it to love them while we can.
Gotta say I agree completely. Well said.
I absolutely loved the trilogy. Esp… the current release. The end was just awesome. She has merged present and past in previous two also, but this was just brilliant.
This is a humble request, if we can get an epilogue for this trilogy. I just don’t want to loose the connection with the characters.
I was so thrilled to see that Susan Ericksen was reading Blood Magick! She’s so good in the In Deaths and proved even more brilliant in that I didn’t hear any of her In Death ‘voices’ in the book. Perfect narrator to finish the trilogy. I found each book perfect for that cousin of the Three. Iona, finding her Irish roots, made me imagine that’s how Nora felt on her first (and maybe second) visit to Ireland. We saw how Iona learned to adapt and it was perfect. Connor and Meara, finding each other after being friends all their life, made me laugh and watch them settle into their lives as they prepared for battle. Watching Iona learn even more gave more laughter and insight into learning to fit in. Loved the book. Then, finally, there’s Branna and Fin. Watching them finally get back to each other was so perfect, they had to learn how to trust again. The details of how she ran her business were very interesting, and I loved the details of preparation for the spells. The battles were amazing! I can almost see Nora testing her yoga skills, to see if such movement is possible, for I could imagine the moves in battle easily and was nearly breathless. I’ve enjoyed all and loved many of the trilogies, and never thought I’d love one more than I love the Circle trilogy, but this one is wonderful. Thanks, Nora!
I just finished reading the second book, I liked it. But I thought the battle scene and the last two chapters in particular were very rushed. I would have liked to have read a bit more on what happened to them during and after the battle, with Conner and Meara especially, how they felt about getting engaged, etc. I also bought the third book yesterday, looking forward to it.
I love reading a lot of the books set in Ireland that Nora Roberts writes. I was in Ireland three years ago, totally and completely fell in love with that country – so beautiful! So it brings back happy memories to go back there in my mind with these books.
As I said, it’s really flattering when readers want more, but a written story HAS to come to an end. It doesn’t meant the reader can’t wind it forward in his/her own imagination. The characters could have kids–as you see them, if you want them. You can imagine the weddings, the lives that are built after the book ends.
As for ending with, say, Sorcha standing with her husband and kids, that would put me in mind of the end of Return Of The Jedi (love me some Star Wars) when Luke looks over during the victory celebration on Endor and sees Obi Wan and Annikan Skywalker standing there, smiling. I always think, ah, just a little bit heavy handed for my personal tastes. I didn’t need that visual to wrap it all up in a bow.
EXACTLY, I like it that you leave it for the READER to imagine it any way they like. You describe your characters beautifully, but EACH of us has a different vision of the character. That’s the beauty of literature.
You have a beautiful way of leaving me wanting more … Since the day I picked up my first book by you … The villa .. I have been Entranced ..
I re-read everyone of them .. Especially the O’Dwyer trilogy I’m forever bound to this story … It puts me in Ireland and where the real magic of the world is hidden … Thank you very much .. You have a life long fan
You are one of my favorite writers because you are so versatile and creative but I was, as a witch, disappointed and dismayed by the name you chose for your demon. Cernunnos is in fact the horned god, also known as Herne the Hunter. While Christianity almost certainly got their image of their devil from this pagan god, he is the furthest thing possible from Satan. He is the lord of wild things… A peaceful god of nature and fruitfulness. This information is easily found on any number of websites and in many books and you are usually more accurate in your research. I understand that fiction is fiction and fact is fact and never the twain shall meet but although there was plenty of paganesque silliness on this trilogy, the imagery was lovely and there was a right feeling to it that crashed and burned with the revelation of the demons name. I would just like to know why, if possible…I know you must be busy.
I’m so sorry, Nora. After I posted the above I read further in the comments and found you had answered my question last year! Serves me right for taking so long to read that last book! Don’t get me wrong, I’m still pretty disappointed… Your research is generally so thoroughly done…but I am and always will be a fan and a voracious reader of all your work. Don’t ever stop, you’re a wonderful storyteller and you pull me into your worlds! Blessed Be. ❤️
I re-read the first 2 books immediately before I started Blood Magick and what a lot of reading that was!! I loved all 3 equally except I knew almost immediately that Branna HAD to accept her and Fins’ love as a positive force before they would be able to defeat Cahban and the demon. As I got through Blood Magick, I kept finding reasons to put it down so I wouldn’t finish it too quickly! I wanted the battle to be finished, but I didn’t want the story to be over! How silly is that?! I’m going to enjoy re-reading this series so very much. Thank you Nora for another exceptional trilogy!
I was the same way with the blood magick… I had a great visual going on as to how Finbar may have looked.
lol
Message two,
I just finished the third book “blood Magick” without spoiling it for those that have not read it, I can only say, that it was great! I liked everything about this whole story line. I only wished there was something else that was following this trilogy.
Can’t wait to read Blood Magick. Waiting for it to come into my local public library because for some reason they didn’t order it before it was published as they usually do. In anticipation of it coming out I reread both books. I had never done that before and am glad I did as I enjoyed them a second time around. I know these are going to be added to my re-read pile as many of Nora’s books are.
*spoiler alert*
I am deeply disappointed in book three. I was enjoying the trilogy immensely until the final battle scene. During that scene I wanted to throw my Kindle at the nearest wall.
I am a witch. While the characters in most of Nora’s “witchy” books have traditional Wiccan leanings, I am not Wiccan. I commend her for her research on the Wiccan religion. That being said, with the amount of research that I know she had to do to write these books, how could she name Cabhan’s demon after a Pagan God of the forest? Horned God does NOT equate demon. How could she write a book set in Ireland, one of the homes of the Celtic people and show such total disrespect for their beliefs? I feel that the people of pagan religions have worked long and hard to gain an understanding from the general populace that Satan and his “evil demons” have no place in our religion. And a best selling author who is read by millions just put them right back in. How many people that are ignorant of my religion will, after reading this book, forever think Cernunnos is a demon and worship of him is evil? Shame on you, Nora. I used to be a fan.
I’m terribly sorry, and certainly meant no disrespect. I think if you’ve read any of my other books that involve The Craft, you’ll know I have nothing but respect. Obviously I didn’t research the name deeply enough, and honestly never thought of the name as equating a god with a demon.
Thank you so much Nora – I knew this had to an error. Having read almost all your books you show too much respect for the traditions to do this on purpose.
That said, I finally got my copy from the library, I do wish I could afford to buy your books but, one day I’ll again have the finances to do so.
I haven’t finished it yet but have fallen in love with it. I know this series will be added to my long list of books to reread. I so love to curl up with one of your books and reread it revisiting with my friends from the stories.
I too would love more stories from some of your series but understand that they have to end. I remind myself that if these don’t end then when will I meet new friends in new stories.
I think you are getting even better at writing Nora, which boggles my mind as I thought you were a great writer before (I have most, if not all of your earlier works.)
I am also a big fan of your JD Robb books – thank you for many pleasant an hour spent curled up with your books.
I posted on this issue recently without reading all the comments and wanted to thank you for this response. I have always loved your work and will continue to be an avid reader and am heartened that the demons name was just a bit of under researching. Blessed be.
Coudn’t agree more. These were the very first Nora Roberts books I ever read but I dont think I will read more. Initially I was impressed by the amount of research done into Ireland and Wicca, being an Irish witch myself until I got to the end last night.!! Not doing enough research hardly covers it. Surely a quick google of Irish demon names and god names would have cleared things up!!
Gee wiz folks…..ever heard of ‘fiction’???
These are fantasy romance stories from the author’s imagination. …why is research necessary?
Why are you expecting facts to be presented in a fantasy fictional character?
Really, your opinion is valid, but your objections feel way off base!
Because, people misunderstand Pagans/Witches/Wiccans enough without using a Celtic god’s name as a demon. If it’s all fiction and all made up, she would not have referenced ANY known god or goddess. (Brigid, Hecate and the Morrigan were all used if I remember correctly).
I actually worship Cernunnos. He’s my patron god, as Brigid is my goddess. So yes, I was a bit offended. I mean, Cernunnos may have horns/antlers, but he’s no demon. 😉
THAT BEING SAID-
I absolutely loved these books, up until that final battle scene. Dark Witch was my favorite. Iona and Boyle stuck with me the most, though I love all the characters.
Up until this point, Nora has done a great job depicting Pagans/Witches/Wiccans in a positive light. And for that I am greatful.
Nora has addressed this issue and apologized. Some Pagans take themselves WAY too seriously. It is not Nors’s job to educate people. She entertains us. And anyone who uses fiction to explore Paganism is in for a rude awakening…
I just feel like the issue has been addressed.
I’m sorry, did it sound like I was asking for another apology? Because that certainly was not my intent. I read the one she already provided.
Some Christians take themselves too seriously. Or Buddhists. Or Muslims. Fortunetly I am not one of those people. 😀
I know I’m way late, but to say “geeze it’s just fiction” is a bit offensive. Now, imagine if someone used Jesus as a villain, or a demon.
I just finished Blood Magick and I loved it! I had taken a break from Nora’s books and read another author’s trilogy that ended with the main character dying at the end of the 3rd book. After that horrifying experience I came running back to Nora Roberts and fell in love with the Dark Witch and Shadow Spell. I have eagerly been awaiting the 3rd book. Blood Magick did not disappoint. I loved how all the story lines were wrapped up and everyone got their happy endings. I think the best part was when they saw Fin’s mark had changed. So beautiful. Thank you Nora for another wonderful trilogy and a lovely ending.
I am a huge Nora Roberts fan! Have been since I was a teenager. I think this trilogy was/is my favorite. I loved everything about these books. Bought the last one Oct. 30th and finished it yesterday, Nov. 4th, (in bed all day, couldn’t put it down, I even grabbed something to eat and brought it to bed with me…).
So, my question is… Nora, did you always plan to end it the way you did, battles over, Fin and Branna can have the life they dreamed of… the end?
Please don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved these books. I was just hoping there was going to be a little more… I just felt… incomplete I guess… I felt a bit better after I read what Laura wrote about “the baby question.” I’m considering just writing down my own little ending, the weddings, the houses, Nan moving “home,” the babies, and even the first three. For my own eyes of course! Maybe for some closer…
You kind of made me fall in love with Ireland… it became my dream vacation.
Anyways, thank you for continuing to write amazing books!
Yes, that was the end for me. Weddings and babies and so on, we’ll that sort of thing could go on forever, couldn’t it? The trilogy was centered on the curse, the centuries old battle, and the six who came together to resolve it.
Battle won, curse broken, love triumphs. The rest, yes, is for the individual reader to imagine as the wish, if they wish.
Love all these books, love everything set in Ireland especially, love JD Robb stories…….that said, I would LOVE to understand how to pronounce the Gaelic words used as well as some of the names too? Sorcha – pronounce as sounds or is it “Sorka” and Cabhan – same as it sounds or something else? I feel like I am making them up in my head as I go and I would love the story more if I knew how to say them as Nora intended? Maybe a blog post here? Many thanks.
Sorcha=Sorka
Cabhan=Cavan
BH is Irish is pronounced as a V.
You can google Irish pronounciations–there are even sites where you can listen to someone say them. I found that very cool!
I read the entire trilogy over the weekend and just didn’t want it to end! Loved the characters, adored Fin and Branna. Thoroughly enjoyed this as I do all her books.
I had an epiphany during the 3rd book…I believe the reason Nora Roberts books are so popular is because she creates the community each of us longs for through the cooking of meals, celebration of victories, and the healing magic of love. Thank you Nora for inspiring me to believe in happy endings.
Oh one more thing! I almost fell out of my chair when Branna names Brannaugh of Sorcha’s 3rd child Ruarc!!! Is he a possible ancestor of Roarke?? Or am I pronouncing it wrong in my head? Or is it just a popular Irish name? I always look for some relationship to Roarke’s family in the Irish books. This would be a cool connection.
I just thought it would be fun.
I am a little confused about one thing If Conner and Branna are brother and sister how did Eammon’s line perpetuate? Iona is Teagan’s Branna is Brannaugh wouldn’t that make Conner Brannaugh’s also?
I thought the same thing and was wishing the last book would clarify that…unless I missed something I am still confused!
it just doesn’t make sense
There are centuries between the first three and the last three, and countless ways to cross and mix bloodlines. As a personal example, by parents were third cousins. So for my brothers and me, if we went back a few generations, our great-great grandmother on our mother’s side was our great-great aunt on our father’s.
I’m Irish…and know how easy bloodlines can cross and mix…it can be very confusing…but who cares? As long as I’m Irish in the end…I’m happy … ha!
Love, love, LOVED Blood Magick! The very first trilogy I ever read was when my Mom gave me “Dance Upon the Air” when I was 14 because I kept complaining about being bored. She always said read a book so I did! Never stopped ever since! Blood Magick for me reminded me so much of Face the Fire yet not the same at all! One of my all time favourite books for sure this time around! I have a question though Nora.
Have you ever thought of revisiting a trilogy and creating like another triology from a trilogy? I always danced with ideas of the future for characters like Nell or Mia or now with this new trilogy. Or even books like Blue Smoke.
Always wondered that! Thanks again for your adventures your books take me on Nora!!
Hi Lisa,
Once Nora’s finished with a trilogy she doesn’t look back. After all, she has so many new characters to meet and then share with us all!
Laura
The Three Sisters Trilogy has always been my favorite…and my copy of Face the Fire is so warn out and faded…..and ready for me to read again and again.
I have really, truly enjoyed the Cousins O’Dwyer books, and just now finished reading Blood Magick. But, oh gosh, my heart is broken! How could Cernunnos be used as an evil demon, when he is anything but? He is Life and Love and Benevolence and Passion, etc. I could go on, but my heart is just hurt that his name would be trashed like that. I’m so disappointed. Other than that, though, I really treasured the characters.
As I explained upthread, I made a mistake, and I sincerely apologize. No disrespect was intended. I can’t fix it, so I can only say I’m sorry.
i adored Blood Magick- the entire trilogy, actually. Such interesting and flawed and complete characters. One of the reasons I love the trilogies so much is the way that we really get to know the characters and how they interact over the three books. And I very much love the books that are written about witches- close and dear to my heart! Thanks Nora for your stories! And thanks Laura for your care with the fans.
I think that the stories are all wonderful and written in the voice of the main characters. The fights were each different as they progressed through the series a nd focused on the characters who were the book’s emphasis.
The challenge I had (and have with all of Nora’s series) is the characters become such dear friends to me that I have a hard time allowing myself to read the final few pages. Nora creates the friends and family many of us would love to know in real life.
With Trilogy books, I buy them as soon as they’re in the bookstores, but I don’t read until the last book is out, or rather I start reading the first two books before the third one is out so that the story continues without a break in between. That’s the way I am, I guess everyone does it differently. I get so excited every time a NR book comes out! I have many other books by different authors, but Nora’s books are the best I’ve ever read! I’m still catching up on books that I don’t have, I think I’m missing maybe 6 or 7 books from 20 years ago! I will find them and I will read them! Thank you, Nora for keeping me on the edge of my chair every time!
I don’t have enough discipline to wait until all three books come out- so I read them right away, and then read each one again before the next one comes out. Yes- I’m obsessed with Nora’s books. But there are much worse things I could be obsessed with!
Im reading the dark witch , love the paranormal themes. The battle is between good and evil. The bad guy tries to lure you in with seduction.
Hi, Just finished the last book. Thought it ended a little to fast. Wanted there to be a big wedding at the end. Like a three month’s later. Instead of one but three were wed at the old church. But loved the
stories. Would love to see this put into a movie……… Just saying.

PS
I stayed awake for another hour, after finishing the Cousins trilogy, imagining how a movie director would create the flying back in time scenes. I hope we’ll find out.
Who’s houses are on the cover of each book? I believe the last one is Finbars the first might be Branna’s.
Oh and when are the movies coming out??. That would be awesome…
