I apologize for the delayed teasers this go round. Life has been spinning fast for me since December 1, culminating in hip surgery 5 days ago. To make it up to you, I offer a bunch of teasers in one shot.

As always, these are little Easter eggs (to borrow a film term) you’ll find in the book, not spoilers or major plot points.

I re-read Abandoned this week to create my list and it’s a fun, fast read. I think you’ll enjoy it.

So here we go:

  • The memo has gone out: Don’t mess with Bella’s territory.
  • Eve and Peabody are diametrically opposed on body art.
  • Summer internships are interesting and flexible.
  • Eve may have an unsettling definition of Good Mom.
  • It’s been nearly 3 years????
  • Always choose a meditation mantra that fits.
  • Could the perfect lip color get the bad guy?
  • Eve finally expresses an interest in real estate her reasons fascinate Roarke.
  • Life is a balance: you’re too young for some things/too old for others.
  • We learn Peabody has laid conversational traps for her partner.

  1. I’m not sure I’d have been doing this much 5 days after hip surgery, Laura! Congrats & behave yourself! You’ll feel so much better now that the surgery is out of the way!

      1. Nah, having the hip not hurting every time I moved, including turning over in bed, offset even those darned bills!

  2. SO ENJOY THE BYPLAY BETWEEN DALLAS AND PEABODY AND FIND DALLAS’S VIEW OF THE WORLD SO INTERESTING AND AT TIMES FUNNY. GREAT WRITING IN ALL THE BOOKS.

  3. Got the best early Valentines Day gift. My son won an arc of Abandoned for me! Stayed up till 3am finishing it. Great read as always. At least 3 of your teasers were on my list of memorable moments.
    Was very happy to hear your surgery went well. Hope your recovery is even better!

  10. Thank you for the teasers. I feel like a small child waiting for Christmas. My hip was replaced a few years ago and I can tell you to listen to the Physical Therapist. Be well.

  11. Laura, be a rock star at PT. It will be your salvation. Been there done the hip thing and many other orthopedic surgeries. Keep moving! One doctor told me if he had his way all beds would’ve removed from the Ortho unit!

  13. Apologies not necessary. You are sweet but nuts for going back to work so early. Taking care of yourself should be your main priority.

  15. Looking so forward to “egg hunting” and enjoying another trip to E&R land. Had my second after surgery visit (7+ weeks) and my surgeon showed me the new x-ray! O-M-G! I’m really a cyborg now. It’s wild. Stick with your PT, lovely lady. Your muscles will thank you. But.don’t stint on resting. Bone heals slowly they keep telling me. Congrats 🎉 and thanks for all you do.

    Good to hear from you again. Hope you’re taking it easy post surgery! I can’t wait to get started. When does the book come out? I have it on hold at several libraries.

  18. Take care of yourself, Laura, surgery is no joke! Be sure to follow doctor and PT instructions so you can recover fully and not experience any residual pain.

  19. I’ve been wanting Eve to shock Roarke with a real estate or business idea and make him another billion or two. Which he promptly puts in her name. Lol! Can’t wait to start reading and hope my Nook copy downloads at 12:00:01 am. 😁🤣❤️

    Woke up at 3 AM, as usual in my sleep cycle, but couldn’t go back to sleep because I knew what was waiting for me on my kindle! Too bad I have to go to work today, sigh.
