Are there bits of wisdom or humor (or both) that you remember from one of Nora’s books? I thought it might be fun to collect them here. (Please note there is a separate JD Robb/In Death thread this is NR only.) It can be from an interview or a talk Nora has given as well as books. Laura I agree with you on your comments, they are my favorites also. Then there is the one when she said something about getting asses either in or out of chairs and write. I just love the way Nora/J.D. takes you places and into situations.
My favorite quote is from the “In The Garden” trilogy: “He’s as dim as an underground cave on a moonless night!” I laughed myself senseless after reading that!

Those are good. I don’t have favorite ones because I have read so many books I don’t remember any of them. I like to read others and see what they like.
Omg me too I remember that I loved this quote from the Boonsboro Trilogy but I cant remember what it was and which book .. lol
I have 2 favorites. First from Blood Brothers,

I have favorite lines out of every book Nora writes. However, my all time favorites are the following: ” All the titty bars in all the land” by Declan Midnight Bayou.

Key of Knowledge. Her living space was a testament to her first and abiding love, with shelves jammed with books, tables crowded with them. She saw them not only as knowledge, entertainment, comfort, even sanity, but as a kind of artful decoration. I have 18 full bookcases in my 900 Sq ft house.
From Jewels of the Sun, this one has stuck with me a long time:

The entire trilogy is wonderful, but it’s worth reading just for that moment.

This one is easy. I have this bookmarked because it’s exactly how I feel about my favorite stories. From Captivated, Nash to Morgana,

I’ve often thought that quote is sooo true! And I step into good stories, and go BACK into them, all the time.

Laura was talking about how November makes her think of the Key Trilogy so I started re-reading today and as a new mom I found this quote quite perfect.

That passage — and the response is my all time favorite lines from Carnal Innocence. Loved the Della character. And don’t even get me started on Cousin Lulu!!

This quote is from Heaven and Earth from the Three Sisters trilogy. I fell in love with it from the moment I read it, and I paraphrased it in my book of quotes (I have a book I write my favorite quotes and songs in.), so, I don’t have the exact wording, but this is almost exact (minus a word or two where the ‘…’ is). “Heaven and Earth… do more than just hold us between them. I wish I could remember what book of Nora’s this is from but it goes something like “The way it is now doesn’t mean it’s the way it’s always going to be. “
This is not a quote, but the word went directly to my heart. Because it felt the same for me when I lost my husband. I also have two boys so the similarity was astronishing. It´s from the book “Blue Dahlia.”
I have the words only in swedish but I will try to translate them back to english and ask of your forgivnes at the same time for my poor english.
Stella is telling Logan about the tragic accident when her husband Kevin died and at one point he says;

In those strong words I found my soulmate. Nora through Stella.
Of cours I love her stories and I fully agree with Sue Nodine of her favorite quote, but behind them there is a great woman and a great fellow creature who I´ll respect. for as long as I live.
One of my favourite NR quotes is… ‘I guess I get the calling an ass**** an ass**** from Cam…’
From Seth in Chesapeake Blue
Every Nora Roberts book becomes my favorite. Even if only for the time it takes me to read it. Then I pick up the next and it becomes my favorite for a time. I love them all and each one has a story, a life of its own. Laughter and tears. Family and friends. But one series stands above the others for me and especially one book. Valley of Silence. A fight for not just one family, one home, one land. But for all humankind and the right to live and die as human. Nothing more basic than that but hardly simply. The story of Moira and Cian is one of my favorites of all of Nora’s books. I cry everytime I read the ending. ( OK the middle parts too).

Then a little later when Cam, Ethan and Phillip deciding how the work/caring for Seth situation will work, Ethan says Cam will be primary caregiver “Makes sense,” Phillip agreed and, feeling better, he grinned at Cam. “You’re Mommy.” to which Cam replies “Fuck you.” and Phil comes back with, “That’s no way for Mommy to talk.”
Laugh every time…I have read this series at least a dozen times and listened on audio probably half that. I want to marry Cam…
