RWA Days 3 and 4

Wednesday is the start of the work week at RWA.  Because I’m a slave driver, I set up interviews on Wednesday and Thursday with French and German media outlets in advance of the release of The Collector in Germany and the next In Death in France.  Nora sat with an interviewer from ARD and Focus as well as writers from Le Parisien and Maxi.  As soon as I know when the stories will be available, I’ll let everyone know.

The Literacy signing was a huge success — so busy, I didn’t take a photo!  But as the Nora Roberts Foundation sponsored the event, we just learned the signing raised over $47,000 for literacy.  Thank you to everyone who came by!

Thursday, Nora took Q & As for an hour during her Chat With.  As always, she was entertaining and had the room convulsed with laughter several times.

The last two interviews finished up by 4, then we all put on comfy clothes and hung out in the suite.

  1. I love the idea of showing us Nora´s shoes. Love it.

I can´t weare shoes like that myself, but it´s a treat getting to pine over Nora´s.

Myself, I, in secret, collect Converse sneakers ad Dr Martens boots and shoes.

Well…back to reading Birthright. Still good after 20 readings.

    1. I broke my ankle in 2 places 3 years ago. I now have ballet flats in every color of the rainbow. As long as the heels are not much over an inch I can wear them. I too look and admire Nora’s shoes.

  2. Love the outfits and the shoes! But, being a musician, I am seriously drooling over the grand piano Nora is leaning against and where the interviews are being done. Music & books, or possibly, books & music are my two passions! Would have loved to hear Nora’s talk at the Chat With. Thanks for the updates and pictures. Keep them coming!

  3. Enjoyed the updates & photos….almost like being there! Cheers!

  4. I love the striped dress. You always look so classy. Also i’m so impressed that you wore those pointed toe shoes and stood for an hour. Congrats on raising so much!

  5. First off, I’m absolutely in LOVE with the signing dress! I want one, but I’m sure I’ll never be able to afford it.

Secondly, how on earth does Nora stand in those high heels I always see the pics of her in?

Finally, I hope the articles in the French and German media outlets have a translation? I would hate to have to run the entire article into a translation matrix (and the free ones often make mistakes) to read them!

  6. Love those shoes unfortunately I can’t wear styles like that any more. Congratulations on raising the monies for a worthy cause.

  7. Are the blue shoes suede? They look like they were comfortable and SO pretty! Great outfits and loved seeing the hands in the air during the interviews. I’ve been a hand-talker since childhood. Many congrats on the literacy signing.

  8. I have to add my likes for the signing dress in particular (love colours) and for the shoes, even though I could never wear them. The highest heels I ever wore were four-inch platforms in the early 70s. On my 21st birthday, I fell off them and tore ligaments in my ankle – my GOOD one! – and I never wore them again. 🙂

  9. Love the outfits, especially the media day shoes. Perfection. Thanks for sharing Nora’s RWA experience with us.

  10. Hi Laura,
Thanks for all the behind the scenes pics, I remember when I finally mustered the courage to wait in line to see Nora, I was starstruck ( I kinda still am), she was amazing and gracious. Now I wait till near the end of the literacy signing when she’s just about out of books, and I go for the chance to say thanks for it all, the books, the characters I fall in love with, and her continued support of RWA and literacy. She is even more wonderful in person, and yeah, the fashion rocks! With thanks.

  11. I was so star-struck meeting Nora for the first time, at the literacy signing, that I didn’t even notice her dress, or her shoes (I’m a shoe nut- have over 200 pairs ).I used to wear high heels when I was younger. Now, having broken both ankles, 3 times,(while wearing sneakers & power-walking ) I’m over them. Nora looks even better in person, & I’m lusting over that striped dress. But w/horizontal stripes, u have to be skinny to wear it. But she works out, to get that great body.

  12. I absolutely adore the media day dress and shoes! LOVE the colors. Appreciate you sharing her fabulous taste with us 🙂
