Love the look and feel of the garden. Looks so effortless.
Nora – your gardens are beautiful – your books are beautiful and you are beautiful. How do you think of all your wonderful stories – I am totally amazed.

Dear Ms. Roberts, I have been reading your books for that last 14 years. I wasn’t much of a reader, but I got fired from my job over a twenty-five cent raise, I told my boss to shove it and he fired me. That is when I started to read. I have read all of your books and I have been to your bookstore twice. I actually meet one of your sons which was a highlight of my trip. I am disappointed that I won’t be able to come on July 19th, my son is getting married (which by the way I am so excited). But I would have loved to meet you and Linda Lael Miller as I read all of her books too. So in a way I guess I have my boss to thank. I love you books and maybe someday I will get down to Boonsboro to meet you. Thank you. Donna Lohrer
Gorgeous photos – many thanks! Nora’s back must be aching today after all that work. Love the lavender shade of the azaleas, looks almost like mist. My garden’s covered (again) waiting for the storms (again) to pass. Springtime in the Rockies is a chancy thing. My pots of herbs are gathered together and covered in burlap, as is my rhubarb and hosta that were just beginning to look good. Hope they weather the storm okay. Thanks again for the pictures!
Don’t need to go to our garden center to see the different types of flowers to plant. Nora is a garden artist as she is a word artist. One of my favourites are Sunflowers and I planted them from seed last year for the first time and they turned out beautiful Thank you for sharing your garden with us.
Happy Mother’s Day to you both, Nora & Laura!
I am doing a gnome tree and fairy garden thanks to the aid of my two granddaughters. I took an old wooden ladder and attached it to the corner of the front porch and added small pots of flowers, tied to the steps with strips of tartan fabric. I took my daughters’ childhood rocking chair with one broken arm glued back and added a pot of geranium ivy, added a blue washtub, filled it with spring flowering bulbs, put all terra cotta planters on the back porch including some hanging baskets and on the front porch I used hunter planters to match the porch furniture with white hanging baskets to accent the green. Its a wip but I have tons of plants to pot thanks to the grands elementary schools garden club flowers I bought the other day. Since when did elementary schools have a real hot house with a garden club for 4th and 5th graders? Times sure do change. I am enjoying the gardening this year and a lot of it is thanks to Nora and her garden trilogy, which I loved.
Hi Annie, Have only just found this blog, your garden sounds lovely. Its a New Zealand winter for me at present…like you I loved the garden trilogy and would love to read another set around a similar business.
I recently purchased a sign at a closing down garden centre sale that reads In the Garden:-) Have read the books many times and am hoping for more in a similar vein. In the meantime back to my latest Diana Gabaldon.
Thanks I am thoroughly enjoy my garden this summer.
I actually I just hired a college boy to come to weed and remove unwanted vines, Virginia creeper as it’s taking over. My granddaughters help me water and it a big job as I have tons of plants both on the front and back porche as well as around the house.
Love the photos, some of my favorite flowers. need to get out in my garden
Happy Mother’s Day! Nora’s garden is beautiful. I’m not much of a green thumb so I’m jealous.
My hubby has got back into his garden after a few years of very bad health, it is doing him so much good! There’s something really special about hope and growing things! Our garden is the nicest it’s been for a long time and I love it!
Looks lovely!! I wish I could keep a garden, but I have the biggest black thumb. It’s so bad that the plants at the store cower in fear when I walk by them. Happy Mother’s Day everyone!
Such pretty photos!
My rose bush looks ill and my yard is filled with dandellions. So not too well.
My irises are blooming and my hostas are coming along nicely. The deer will enjoy eating them like they did last year. Oh well. Nora has been working hard and I can’t wait to see more pictures are the seed grow and more flowers bloom. LOVE all the rockwork and shaded spots in which to sit and read and enjoy the beauty around you. You can tell she loves to garden.! She’s a master at it too!
Love the look. It makes me feel as though I am walking through wildflower fields. So peaceful.
Beautiful garden. In a rental. What the owners planted looks great. Lawn service taking care of lawn very well.
So pretty! I will have to show my husband. He is the person with the green thumb in our family. His wave petunias look so nice and the azaleas and his roses are blooming.
I hope Nora has underground watering hoses. That would be an awful lot to water by hand.
Sprinkler system (after far too many hot, sweaty summers with a hose.) All I have to hand water are the pots!
Crepe Myrtles, herbs, day lilies, dianthus and moss rose save the day in my yard ~ seriously, if you want something green to grow, but it won’t, try oregano.
I’ve got oregano, thyme, tarragon, sage, rosemary and parsley ….. and they all grow like mad …… but the oregano takes the prize. That stuff is bullet proof! It spreads broadly, so be careful where you put it, and it comes up year after year.
I also have Swiss Chard, another really hardy plant that is both lovely and edible.
I miss having nature’s beauty around our home in Texas, but we are on such strict water conservation that we can only water our lawn/flower beds twice a month! To make up not being able to have our own beautiful garden we bought a family membership to the Dallas Arboretum. I love Nora’s pictures!!
Would love to receive your blogs. Please add me to your list. Thank you!
Beautiful. Just planted 2 azalea, white for my hubby who passed away 3/1/14 and purple for my son who passed away 3/22/13. Enjoy your books so very much. Have read them all. Looking forward to the next.
love the ladies in the flower bed,”dainty”
Hi Nora, Love your books especially the trilogy’s. I read loads of them. I do not read JD Robb though I tried one but didnt like the female character. I like your garden photo’s. My favorite books are the Boonsboro ones I have read them over & over.. All the best to you and yours. Barbara
I love that shady spot photo! I want one, too.
I love your garden. It is so beautiful!
