The Awakening excerpt

Nora’s newest trilogy – The Dragon Heart Legacy – debuts with The Awakening, out November 24.

Here’s the official cover copy:

In the realm of Talamh, a teenage warrior named Keegan emerges from a lake holding a sword representing both power and the terrifying responsibility to protect the Fey. In another realm known as Philadelphia, a young woman has just discovered she possesses a treasure of her own.

When Breen Kelly was a girl, her father would tell her stories of magical places. Now she’s an anxious twentysomething mired in student debt and working a job she hates. But one day she stumbles upon a shocking discovery: her mother has been hiding an investment account in her name. It has been funded by her long-lost father and it’s worth nearly four million dollars.

This newfound fortune would be life-changing for anyone. But little does Breen know that when she uses some of the money to journey to Ireland, it will unlock mysteries she couldn’t have imagined. Here, she will begin to understand why she heard a voice in her head saying Come home, Breen Siobhan. It’s time you came home. Why she dreamed of dragons. And where her true destiny lies through a portal in Galway that takes her to a land of faeries and mermaids, to a man named Keegan, and to the courage in her own heart that will guide her through a powerful, dangerous destiny.

And now, you can read just a bit to get ready for November 24. You’ll find the excerpt here.

  1. November 24th – excellent timing for the long Thanksgiving holiday.

    1. Can’t wait..I’ve been doing a reread of Nora’s trilogies started with the ” Born in ” and am up to “the Key” I will be ready for a new set in November

  2. I like the story so far. My only comment is that in this excerpt several passages were repeated. You might want to check the edited copy more closely.

    1. That was an error in translating from the word doc to a PDF. I’ve read the book, there are no repeats.

  6. I’m not into the super natural, even tho i loved the three sisters trilogy. But i’m so looking forward to Sept. 8, when Shadows In Death comes out. I’m counting the days. Stay well, Nora, it’s not just your family that needs you, but your fans as well!

  7. Oh my God, this sounds so good! I love portal fantasies. This is going to be great!

  10. I don’t know if you’re already planning this, but I would love a pronunciation guide for the Gaelic words that will appear in the new book. I’m looking forward to this trilogy!

  11. Looking so forward to the Awakening, I have all her Trilogies and Quartets. May I just say, Nora is an amazing woman, she is like a soothing blanket for me. Gets me through so many ups and downs, I do not want her to change her writing for anyone!! She has made her mind up on Eve and Roarke, NO BABIES!! And I wish fans would stop going on about it.🤗 Also because of all this Damn technology I seem to be missing my Nora newsletter help!!.🤗

    1. We only send the newsletter out before a release. The last was in August for Shadows in Death. The next will be before The Awakening.

You might want to check the spam folder for the newsletter. Or email me at LMReeth@gmail.com and we can figure out what’s what.
