Just letting everyone know Laura had her hip replacement surgery this morning. It all went very well, and she’s already home.

She’s already done steps, and is ready to start PT.

You can’t keep a Cranky Publicist down for long!

  8. So glad to hear the surgery went well. Tell Laura to hang in there, I had it done 2 years ago and it was the best thing I could have done. The first three weeks following surgery are the toughest – just take the pain meds and do the therapy and you will be feeling better in no time at all.

  15. Wishing Laura a speedy recovery! It’s all about the attitude and p.t.! If you have a good attitude and do the p.t. every day (several times a day, as prescribed), you’ll be pain free and walking tall in no time.

    1. One day procedures are more common now with the advent of surgery centers (and COVID hasn’t made staying around hospitals a good idea). They won’t make you leave until you are cleared as able to ambulate to the satisfaction of the PT staff. It will be seven weeks since my surgery on this Thursday! Doing the PT and staying with the program works. Just remember to be good to yourself and get lots of rest. You’ll be great!

  36. Excellent! I quit using the Walker in the first week and just used a cane. Then I walked every day gradually increasing the distance. Laura should ace her PT!

  43. Great news, do the PT and she’ll be okay. If my oldest brother, (65+) intellectually disabled, can have both hips done, seperate times with no problems, she’ll have no problems at all.
