Of Blood & Bone excerpt

I know, I know, you’ve been waiting to learn what happens next in The Chronicles of The One.  I’m so happy to share with you the excerpt from Of Blood & Bone.

Here’s the jacket copy:

An epic of hope and horror, chaos and magic, and a journey that will unite a desperate group of people to fight the battle of their lives.

They look like an everyday family living an ordinary life. But beyond the edges of this peaceful farm, unimaginable forces of light and dark have been unleashed.

Fallon Swift, approaching her thirteenth birthday, barely knows the world that existed before―the city where her parents lived, now in ruins and reclaimed by nature since the Doom sickened and killed billions. Traveling anywhere is a danger, as vicious gangs of Raiders and fanatics called Purity Warriors search for their next victim. Those like Fallon, in possession of gifts, are hunted―and the time is coming when her true nature, her identity as The One, can no longer be hidden.

In a mysterious shelter in the forest, her training is about to begin under the guidance of Mallick, whose skills have been honed over centuries. She will learn the old ways of healing; study and spar; encounter faeries and elves and shifters; and find powers within herself she never imagined. And when the time is right, she will take up the sword, and fight. For until she grows into the woman she was born to be, the world outside will never be whole again.

The excerpt won’t answer all your questions but should answer some.

Of Blood & Bone is out December 4.  Your first look is here.

  7. I loved loved book one of this series. I’m a huge Nora Roberts fan and this series is a little darker than she usually writes. I read everything that Nora writes and I was a little skeptical about this first book — she hooked me immediately into this story. I LOVED it. I’ve read the first book at least 4 times. The next one can’t get her soon enough. You go Nora!!!

  11. You are pretty much the only author I read these days. I have read Year One twice and hate waiting all the way until Dec. 4 but I know I have to so I re-read everything else. I am back with The MacGregors now and just getting to Brides as once I have them all, I read them chronologically. Thank you for many hours of glorious reading. Can’t wait to see what else you have. Oh and I also have all your J.D. Robb’s except probably the last 5. I just have to figure out what the last one is that I have then I will know where to start looking for the rest.

  22. I am so excited the release is getting closer. This has been a long wait. I tell everyone who had not read Year One to read it in preparation for the release of book 2. Year One was amazing! Thank you for this excerpt. ?❤

  23. I’m anxiously awaiting Of Blood & Bone with bated breath; I’ve been reading you since you first started publishing..have read everything you’ve written. Is Eve and Roarke ever going to have a family?

  24. Sincerely enjoy all your work. I read or listen over and over to your stories. Thank you

  25. I was so glad to see others are pretty much only reading Nora Roberts ..I was starting to feel weird about it. I used to read quite a few other authors, but not so much any more. When I start to read another author, I tend to compare the characters to Nora’s books and they don’t really rise to the occasion. I also tell my son and husband that I have enough jewelry, clothes, and yes ..even shoes and purses (no…I am not crazy…much) ..but I never have enough Nora Roberts books ..and this year for Christmas there are three new ones to add to the list ..Of Blood and Bone, Leverage in Death and Shelter in Place. I am a truly happy lady. Thank you Nora for your magick imagination. I truly hope you really feel all the beautiful karma headed your way from your readers.

  26. I love this series, although I prefer the adventures of Hoyt and Cian. Thank you Nora Robets that I can read a tale that combines love and magic. At the same time it is not sweetened, but it gives hope, and you can not stop reading until the last letter. And naqet then I want to read again. It is a pity that there is no third part yet. At least in Poland.
