That was an amazing interview, Nora! Really enjoyed hearing about the ins and outs of the business and kudos again for surviving it all. I, for one, am always grateful that you don’t listen to “those” fans and you don’t change your path. I never did like reading stories where you knew ahead of time what was going to happen. What was the point of reading it then? Thanks again, for your hard work.

Nora, I’ve been a huge fan from your very first book. When you first started out you and Janet Dailey were my favorite authors and when the news broke about her plagiarism, I was devasted, I felt so betrayed and as the excuses came out, I just couldn’t believe it and I decided I no longer wanted to read anything she wrote, I could no longer trust her, I gave all her books away and I have never purchased another book from her again. I have reported plagiarism every time I find it. I can’t abide the total lack of respect the perpetrators exhibit not only to the author’s they steal from but the readers they cheat. There has always been a tone to your writing that draws me in every time. When I first started reading the In Death series the first thing, I said to my husband is “Gee JD Robb’s style really reminds me a lot of Nora Roberts” and I was delighted when I found out it was you. I have read and re-read all of your books many, many times and they never get old. I appreciate so much the time and dedication you put into each and every book, you have gifted me and millions of others with untold hours of pure delight and I thank you for it.
I agree with everything you said. We have been on the same journey as I too was a big Janet Daley fan. Such a disappointment to find she is a thief of the worst sort. I have every book Nora has written and also her In Death books. My daughter has bought me two Kindles since the E Readers came out because I ran out of space to keep all the books. I still love real books and most of mine are dog eared from reading them over and over.

Great interview. Really appreciated the passion of these podcasters, and the interview gave me a much more realistic view of Nora Roberts’ job.
Genres are constantly in flux. I was going to say that I found it ironic that Nora Roberts, the empress of romance, says she hasn’t written a “romance” since the Brides Quartet, but there was a time where The Three Musketeers was classified as a romance.
Nora did point out a number of things she is consistently interested in — family, friends becoming family. And it hit me that was what kept me coming back for more of her stories, whatever you call them.

I am mad at myself because I don’t believe I picked up the plagiarism. I had read Sweet Revenge several times. It was my first Nora Roberts book& I read Notorious once barely got through it. I didn’t care for it. I am sure I noticed it didn’t really pick up on it.
Your books are enjoyable. I like the In Death Series & that Eve always gets justice for the victims.

Just to add i remember reading this on one of your books paperback books covers calling you (Nora) the female Sidney Sheldon . At the time did that make Sidney Sheldon the male Nora Roberts
